Day One...Fort St. John

Well it started off with beautiful hot weather,but by the time we hit Breton. We were rained on, just a mild shower and we carried on and it got hotter and hotter and more humid as we headed north. In Mayerthorpe we meet a couple heading to Alaska from New York City, now thats along drive!! It was beautiful until we got to B.C. when we reached Dawson Creek, then we had some rain, hail,rain, but our waterproof clothes held up. However we were not so sure about a night of rain and lightening in our tent, so chickened out and are now staying in a fancy hotel in Fort St.John.Great choice as it is raining buckets outside and we are in our room watching a big screen TV and playing on our new laptop. Hope the morning brings sunshine, so we can continue our trek to Liard hotsprings where we have a camp site booked.
